Training and Development Services - Sustainable Energy Training for Plannersecsc

Training

ecsc has been delivering innovative training programmes in sustainable energy for more than 20 years.

In order to implement sustainable energy policy effectively, planning authorities will need to apply sustainable energy assessment criteria to planning applications. ecsc has designed a software tool that will help planners to quickly and easily process planning applications in light of renewable energy policies. This tool will be made available free of charge to course attendees. Course attendees will also be provided with follow-up telephone support.

The course:

The training course will cover three main modules:

1. Background - National, regional and local policy context. Social, economic and environmental drivers.

2. Process - A description of the compliance assessment process steps involved in the evaluation of planning applications. How to use the tool to:

  • Set renewable energy target for the development
  • Verify predicted carbon emissions
  • Review renewable energy design proposals

3. Case Studies - The final session of the day will give attendees the opportunity to  work through a representative range of case studies using the tool to set targets and evaluate compliance on the basis of real data from real developments.

The initial courses are being offered free of charge on a first come, first served basis.
